Australia
Outhong later relocated to Australia, where he lived in quiet exile until his death in March 1996. Family visits there preserved royal-era photographs and documents.

United States - Minnesota
Another branch of the immediate family, including the family historian's mother, fled to the United States, settling in Minnesota, a major Lao refugee resettlement center. The family remains there today.
